MOMA Scholarship for Indian Minorities, 2019-20

MOMA Scholarship from Ministry Of Minority Affairs is given to economically weaker and meritorious students from 6 minority communities of India such as Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist, Christian, Jain, and Parsis. The application is open on July 15 onwards in every year upto October 30.

Objectives:
To encourage parents of minority students to send them to school.
To enable students from economically weaker sections to pursue professional and technical courses.
Schemes of the scholarship:
  • Pre-Matric scholarship (class 1st to 10th).
  • Post-Matric Scholarship:Course after 10).
  • Merit Cum Mean Scholarship: (Professionals & Technical Courses)
Important Dates:
Pre-Matric Scholarship: 15/10/2019.
Post-Matric Scholarship:30/10/2019.
Merit-Cum-Mean Scholarship: 30/10/2019.
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Must be citizen of India.
  • Should belong to any of the following minority communities: viz. Buddhist, Christian, Jain, Muslim, Sikh, and Zoroastrian (Parsis).
  • Should be a enrolled, regular student in Pre-Matric/ Post-Matric/ Professional/ Technical courses in India.
  • The annual income is not more than Rs.2.00 lakh and 1 Lakh for Pre-Matric.
  • The candidate should not avail any other minority scholarship at a time.
  • Maximum two students will be given from a family.
Selection Criteria:
Selection process:
  • The selection is based on the annual income, then the seniority is considered.
Duration of Scholarship:
The scholarship will be given for the entire course. But every year it has to be renewed. 
Scholarship Amount: 
The Scholarship amount will cover tuition fee, admission fee and maintenance allowances.
1. Class 1-5 : Rs.100 /Pm.
2. Class 6-10: Rs. 850 per year and 100 per month for day scholar and Rs.600 per month for hosteler. 
3. Class 11-12: Rs 7000 per year and Rs. 230 per month for day scholar and 380 per month for hosteler.
4. Technical & Vocational Courses: Rs. 10,000 per year + Rs. 230 per month for Day Scholar and Rs 380 for hosteler. 
5. UG & PG Courses
(Except Tech. & Prof. Courses): Rs. 3000 per year + Rs. 300 per month for Day Scholar and 570 for hosteler.
6. Technical & Professional Courses
in UG & PG Level: Rs. 20,000 per year  + Rs. 500 per month for Day Scholar and 1000 per month for hosteler.
7. M.Phil & PhD Courses: Rs. 3000 per year + Rs. 550 per month for Day Scholar and 1200 per month for hosteler.
