About
the Program:
The
UNESCO-Hamdan Prize was introduced in 2008 to care for the improvement of teaching
and learning quality which is one of UNESCO’s priorities. The Prize amounts to
UD $ 300 000, is awarded every two years to three winners whose projects aim to
improve the quality of education and teachers.
Eligibility:
Candidates
from any region representing any institution or organization related to
education, such as NGOs and educational institutions and communities are
eligible for the applying.
The candidates
must be nominated by the institution.
Application
Procedure:
The application which is written either in English or in French only should be sent
to UNESCO through the nominating institution.
The application should be enclosed with (a) the nomination form by the nominating
body (using the appropriate form), (b) The application form of a candidate (using
the appropriate form) and (c) other required supporting materials. Application and nomination forms are
available in the UNESCO’s website: www.unesco.org/new/hamdan-prize
or Hamdan Foundation website: www.ha.ae. The
complete applications should be mailed to teacherprize@unesco.org with the
subject” UNESCO-Hamdan Prize application”.
Selection
process:
Applications
received before the deadline is reviewed and transmitted to the International jury of the Prize. The selection event of the Prize winner will be held at Dubai
(United Arab Emirates) and the Prizes will be awarded at UNESCO Headquarters in
Paris on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day (October 2020).
